Cancer Prevention

Almost everyone on the planet will know someone who has died from cancer but the cure will come, it is just a matter of time. When the cure is finally discovered it will have a huge impact around the world. While we do know about some of the causes of cancer, no-one can predict who, where or when it will be triggered. Is Cancer Genetic or Acquired?

Could it be true that we are all born with it? Well, it is a disease that’s characterized by a large number of cells that continue to grow and divide.

They affect many people without them even knowing they are there. Cancer is responsible for about 13% of all deaths worldwide. Cancer is an abnormality in the body’s cells and can be caused by a number of agents including carcinogens or poisons such as smoke, infectious agents or radiation.

The cause can also be the responsibility of faulty DNA replication or a genetic trait inherited from parents which means a person can be born with them. It is still not fully understood why one person will contract the disease and another be free from it but it is believed that the interactions between any carcinogens and each person’s particular DNA is complicated.

Long term research has given a better picture of what cancer is and the study of cancer is one of the top ten diseases being researched throughout the world. Study, in general, helps us learn why one person is more susceptible to an illness than another. Knowledge like this could enable more people avoid contracting cancer in the first place.

Over recent years, concern has been made public over the possibility that our dietary habits may be partly to blame for the incidence of the condition. There are certain foods that are considered risky such as excess salt in the diet, too much saturated fat and overindulgence in dairy foods.

No-one is immune from cancer. It can affect anyone at some time in a person’s life. Long term research has helped the situation and many forms can now be treated at even later stages than could be only a little while ago. It is only a matter of time before a complete cure is discovered.
