There are a variety of different types of mold and most don’t pose a threat.

Here are some symptoms to watch out for when it comes to mold exposure:

Treatment of symptoms that are related to mold exposure are varied depending on the extent of your exposure, your general health condition, and your age. Obviously, the first thing to do to go about solving the issue is to remove the mold or remove the people that are exposed to the mold from the environment. A thorough check-up by your primary care physician should be done and laboratory testing of all of those who are exposed to the mold. Your physician may or may not want to treat your symptoms of mold exposure depending on the circumstances and the extent of any illness that you may have from being exposed to the mold. Sometimes medications are in order to treat a person with symptoms of mold exposure. The medication would depend on the type of symptom that they are having.

If you already have a respiratory problem like bronchitis or asthma, or for those who are already dealing with compromised immune systems, like those with cancer, are more likely to be at risk than those who are relatively healthy.

Do your best to avoid having any mold in your home in the first place. Usually you can smell or see this mold. It can look wet and slick or it can appear to be white, fuzzy, and green. Look carefully around your home for areas that are moist, such as water stains, leaks, or other areas that are damp. Work to keep moisture decreased or totally at baby within your home too.

If you do find any mold discard the item that it is on. Some molds can be cleaned up with detergent and water. You may choose to test your home for mold for accuracy of any mold that is present, but hidden. Mold exposure can pose health risks, but in taking the necessary precautions to keep mold growth eliminated or even limited you will be doing your best to keep you and your loved ones healthy.
