<p>Finally, 18 minutes of interval training. This will include a warm up, then determined by the client&#8217;s fitness level five or six short intervals while switching off with short periods of low intensity recovery.</p>
<p>That will be a much more effective workout than running, cycling, or a cardio machine for 45 min straight. Sure they all burn calories but they don&#8217;t build a better body.</p>
<p>In fact, there are a few &#8220;dark sides&#8221; to long slow cardio, including less-than-optimal results, the potential for overuse injuries, and it is an inefficient form of exercise. If you only have 30-45 minutes for your workout and you spend it all on a cardio machine, when are you going to train the rest of your muscles and sculpt a better body?</p>

<p>And as a result of the new research food companies are now starting to manufacture foods containing Omega 3 fatty acids. But should you be eating them?</p>
<p>Firstly lets say that there&#8217;s nothing wrong with eating foods containing Omega fats. The manufacturers generally use fish oil for the fortification process and fish oil is good for getting those healthy polyunsaturated fats DHA and EPA. </p>

<p>But that&#8217;s not a total answer to the question.</p>
<p>You see like lots of things demand for these foods has increased, and manufacturers are seeing an opportunity. So they are charging more, often a lot more, for these fish oil fortified foods.</p>
<p>So you also have to ask yourself how much good Omega 3 fats you&#8217;re actually getting in these Omega 3 rich foods, and also how much it&#8217;s costing you.</p>
<p>To give you an example a serving of Omega 3 enriched bread will give you somewhere around 120mg of Omega 3 fats. Nice but not a lot compared to the 3000 mg you get from eating a serving of fish. And that bread will probably cost a lot more than regular bread.</p>
<p>And eating fish isn&#8217;t cheap either, not to forget that it&#8217;s probably got some levels of PCBs and possibly mercury too.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re trying to increase your intake of good healthy fats you can do so most cost effectively by using fish oil supplements. The best supplements are totally clean, can be taken daily and work out comparatively cheap on a cost per unit of fish oils basis compared to high Omega 3 foods.</p>
<p>So although there are no known health risks to eating foods containing Omega 3 fatty acids they aren&#8217;t a cost effective way to get more Omega 3 fats in your diet. But they do help a little.</p>
